Wellness and Preventative Medicine

As the adage goes, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

At Mill Town Vet, wellness and disease prevention are our core focus.

Some of the things we emphasize include routine lab work, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives, and client education on topics ranging from grooming and ear cleaning to arthritis and dental hygiene.

As not only a doctor but an avid pet owner, Dr. McGarity enjoys sharing his knowledge on these topics and sincerely wants to improve and maintain your pet’s health.

Vaccinations are a crucial component of disease prevention, and at Mill Town Vet, we purchase only the highest-quality vaccines available.

We ensure that they are stored, handled, and administered correctly, and if there is ever a problem or question of efficacy, we will deal directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

When choosing which vaccines to recommend, we consider a pet’s unique lifestyle, environment, and age.

Vaccine frequency is based on current research, manufacturer recommendations, as well as the recommendations by the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the American Animal Hospital Association.
